A secluded corner of the Pyrenees foothills
Our apartment is at one end of our home but entirely independent, providing you with all your home comforts. It comfortably sleeps 4 adults. You are surrounded by oak woods and there are easy walks straight from the door. The woodland is filled with the calls of songbirds for a large part of the year. Deer pass through the gardens. Scotty, our Border Collie will greet you every day...he is a gentle boy! We have many books, maps and information on the local area that we use to discuss with you various ideas from short half days to full adventures, as little or as much help as you need. There is free wifi (if a little slow) if you have the need! Our hope though is that you can relax, unwind and enjoy the slower, easier pace of life here.

Birdwatching & Wildlife
We have specialised for many years in bird watching holidays and have a specific interest in vultures. We are also within the distribution range of many Mediterranean species: Bee-eaters, Hoopoe, Golden Oriole in Summer, Wallcreepers & Crag Martins in Winter. Cranes are part of a mass migration in Spring & Autumn. Not only is there a huge variety but also quantity of birds, especially raptors. A true symbol of the high mountains, the Bearded Vulture is a permanent resident here in the Ariege. 6 couples successfully raised 3 young in 2019. This ratio is indicative of the challenges this species faces. We support local vulture conservation initiatives.
I am an active participant of the departmental naturalist association Conservatoire d’espaces naturels Ariège (ANA – CEN Ariège).
We are conscious of maintaining the fragile balance of Pyrenees eco-systems and yet enabling you, our clients, to enjoy and experience the natural wonders to be found here. Carefully considered day trips can be arranged depending on conditions, snow, weather & the species.
